Advanced Symposium

The Advanced Symposium is an advanced level course for professional economic development practitioners. The Symposium provides attendees an interactive learning environment taught by highly qualified professionals that include local practitioners, economic development experts, consultants, and private industry representatives.

Those wishing to attend the The Symposium to earn attendees the "SC Certified Economic Developer" (SCCED) certification, all SCCED candidate slots are filled.  Please contact SCEDA to be added to the list for information on the next session of the Advanced Symposium. Open slots are available for current SCCEDs wishing to gain re-certification credit or to audit the class for continuing education. 

The 2016-17 Advanced Symposium will be held:
September 22-23, 2016 - Columbia
January 19-20, 2017 - Pinopolis
April 20-21, 2017 - Georgetown
July 20-21, 2017 - Seneca

Session 1 will focus on Workforce & Leadership Development and will feature Kate McEnroe and Carol Johnson as speakers.

About your Speakers:

Kate McEnroe formed Kate McEnroe Consulting in 1993 after spending seven years as Vice President and Principal with Fantus. Her focus has been on corporate site selection assignments, and with a particular expertise in labor-sensitive projects.

Carol Johnson is a proven sales expert and the founder of Continuous Dialog, a professional consulting company specializing in economic development, chamber and leadership sales training.  Private and Public organizations have realized tremendous success and return on investment from the Continuous Dialog proven methods, practical skills and commitment to application.  Clients include states, utilities, chambers, Fortune 500 companies, public and private partnerships, cities and associations.
